What to write about

Corrections. If a formula, a default value or a coverage rate does not match what you are seeing in the field, that is the most useful message this site gets. Name the page, the numbers you entered, the number you got, and the number you expected. A calculator correction is fixed and re-checked against a hand-worked example before it goes back up, and the page's updated date moves when it does.

Licensing and reuse. The charts and reference tables are free to link to and free to quote with attribution, and every calculator, guide and chart carries a Cite this page block at the foot with ready-made APA, MLA and HTML citations. Write here for anything beyond that: reproducing a chart image, embedding a calculator on a commercial site, or using a table in printed material. The link and attribution sheet has the logo files, the approved descriptions and the embed snippet, ready to copy.

Press. Say what you are writing and when you need it. Figures, methodology and the reasoning behind any number on the site are all available, and how QuantiYard calculates answers most of it already.

What this address is not for

QuantiYard cannot size structure, sign off on a design, or tell you whether your local building department will pass something. Nobody here is a licensed engineer, architect or contractor, and an emailed opinion on a load path would be worth less than the free consultation your local supplier will give you. For anything structural, permitted or inspected, the right call is a designer or your building department.

The same goes for pricing a specific job. The cost guides carry US national ranges to plan against, and two or three local quotes will beat any of them for your street.

Advertising and links

QuantiYard does not accept paid links, sponsored posts, or guest articles, and it does not sell placement inside a calculator or a guide. Cross-links between pages here exist because the next page answers the reader's next question, and adding one for any other reason would make the site worse at the only thing it does.
